From the River to the Sea - Who Owns the Promised Land?

Tucker Carlson had a famous interview with Amb. Huckabee. The American ambassador confirmed that God has given all the land between the Nile and the Euphrates to Israel.  Evangelicals agreed with him. The Muslim world was incensed.  A major international disaster is coming.

There are dangerous developments in the Middle East. The whole region is in turmoil. I am convinced that a large part of this has to do with a Messianic Zionist movement in both the evangelical church as well as in Jewish circles. They believe in the prophetic promise of a Greater Israel (see map below). They believe they must move this prophetic destiny forward with war.  There is big disaster coming...here is why.

Let me just right at the start say that the promise of the Lord to Abraham that his descendants would occupy the land from the Nile to the Euphrates has already been fulfilled and scripture records was fulfilled in the kingdom of Solomon. These historical records in the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles serve as a scriptural testament that God is faithful to His Word. The physical borders achieved by David and Solomon reached the very landmarks—the Euphrates in the north and the border of Egypt in the south—that were promised to the patriarchs centuries earlier.

  • 1 Kings 4:21 (KJV): "And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river  (Euphrates) unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life".
  • 2 Chronicles 9:26 (KJV): "And he reigned over all the kings from the river (Euphrates) even unto the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt".

  • Here is the problem we face today that the Christian Zionists don't want to see.  The Jews in Israel  want to restore the glory of Solomon's kingdom who ruled from the Euphrates to the border of Egypt but they do not want to serve the Yahweh of Scripture who is Jesus Christ. the Messiah.

Do the Jews have the right to occupy Palestine? The answer to this question is no! Scripture states that if Israel rejects Jesus, (Yahweh) who brought them into Canaan, He will expel them from the land. They can never lawfully return until they are obedient to their rejected Messiah.

Israel-first evangelicals believe God’s covenant with Abraham gives Jews today unconditional blessing from God, unconditional ownership of Palestine and rights to occupy it as a nation in disobedience and that divine wrath threatens Israel's critics. But Scripture contains none of these promises! Nowhere does it say that God unconditionally blesses the Jewish people no matter what they do.

God first announced His covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12:2-3. In this and later affirmations, He established an everlasting covenant with Abraham in response to the patriarch’s incredible faith. This covenant is first spiritual. It applies to everyonewho is the spiritual seed of Abraham by obedience (Galatians 3).

God has never canceled His promise to Abraham that he would father a vast multitude and that his physical, obedient seed will occupy Palestine. But that promise has already been fulfilled as shown above.

Yet St. Paul says clearly in Romans 8 that apostate Jews have broken God’s covenant. They can’t receive God’s covenant promises because they do not hold up their end of the bargain: Consider:

    • Genesis 17:9 says Abraham’s seed must keep the covenant through obedience.
    • Genesis 17:14 says covenant breaking means being cut off.
    • Genesis 17:19 says Jews only find covenant blessing by keeping the way of the Lord.
    • Genesis 26:4 reinforces that the covenant exists because of obedience.
    • Deuteronomy 1:37 details how Joshua’s obedience empowered Israel to inherit the covenant promise of occupying Canaan.
    • Deuteronomy 7:12 is particularly definitive: “If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors.”
    • So is Deuteronomy 28:1: “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth (i.e. He will fulfill His covenant promises).”

Yahweh's conditional terms of occupancy are bluntly laid down in Leviticus 26-27,33. "Yet if in spite of this you do not obey me, but act with hostility against me, then I will act with wrathful hostility against you ... You ... I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste."

Deuteronomy 4:25-27 continues: "When you do that which is evil in the sight of the Lord your God so as to provoke him to anger, I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that you shall surely perish quickly from the land ... You shall not live long on it, but shall be utterly destroyed. And the Lord will scatter you among the nations, where the Lord shall drive you."

And in Deuteronomy 28:63-4- "if you are not careful to observe all the words of this law ... you shall be torn from the land where you are entering to possess it. Moreover, the Lord will scatter you among all peoples."

In the Old Testament, when Israel and Judah abandoned Yahweh, both nations were exiled from Palestine: Israel by the Assyrians in 722 B.C., Judah by the Babylonians in 597 B.C.

Only abject repentance entitled a small minority of Judeans, under Ezra and Nehemiah, to return from Babylon and again occupy their land of promise. After the remnant Jews' rejection and crucifixion of Christ, they also were scattered among the nations in fulfillment of God's ancient decree.

The thousands of years of Israel's history, in a story of redemption, love and betrayal – recounted in Ezekiel 16. This stern yet tender allegory tells how God rescued Israel from death as a rejected infant and chose her for His spiritual bride – not because of her goodness but out of His compassion. From the furnace of Egyptian bondage, the tiny Hebrew nation burst forth. She plagued Pharaoh, crossed the divided sea and finally lived under Moses’ leadership in the desert of Sinai. There God entered the covenant of spiritual marriage with His bride. But that happiness was so brief!

"Israel you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot because of your fame and poured out your harlotry on every passer-by who might be willing…"(Ezekiel 16:15).

From Moses through the prophets, Israel is repeatedly characterized as an imperious whore. In more than 80 instances, she is specifically denounced as a harlot or lewd woman. Isaiah and the other pre-exilic prophets aimed their wrath at Jerusalem: “How the faithful city has become a harlot!" (Isaiah 1:21) Isaiah denounced apostate Jews as “sons of a sorceress, offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute” (Isaiah 57:3).

Did Israel’s evil ways end in the dusty annals of the Old Testament? No. Israel rejected Jesus Christ, her Messiah. She has never yet repented. This compels an inevitable conclusion: Israel of today and tomorrow is the same symbolic woman once chosen as God’s unique bride but ultimately divorced and cast away because of her spiritual adultery.Israel is that “Mother of Harlots” John saw on the beast of Revelation 17 and 18.

Israel was the first to marry God (Christ) and be spiritually one with Him. Thus the position she enjoyed as a spiritual bride was unique to her. Likewise, only apostate Israel can be the “mother” of spiritual whoredom. When she was chosen as Christ’s bride, other nations were disobedient like a child to its parent. Only Israel was made capable of a wife’s infidelity. As a result, when she became a spiritual whore, she was indelibly marked, “Mother of Harlots.” Jeremiah said, “You had a harlot's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.” (Jer. 3:3) Other apostate systems may be spiritual harlots but only Israel is “mother” of that scarlet sorority. And without repentance, neither time nor wanderings can remove that epithet from her. When Israel shouted, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” her resurrected spouse banished her. The Jewish people were condemned to wander like a woman divorced for adultery, perpetually looking for that substitute husband (anti-Christ) who would take the place of the One she killed.

    The Great City
What has happened to that rejected unfaithful wife today? As I write this America has bombed Iran and the whole Middle East is in chaos.  A great world wide economic collapse is threatened.  The accusations are being made: Why did America do this mass destruction when it was clearly not in America's interest? The answer:  America did it for Israel! The power of the Jewish lobby in America with billionaire wealth controls American foreign policy.

Is this what the prophecy in Revelation is all about?
Revelation 17 confronts us with the specter of a city “which reigns over the kings of the earth.” It has physical power—more wealth and importance than any other city—but also spiritual power, embodying the full potentiality of human degeneracy. “What city is like this great city?” the merchants of the earth will wail. This city is so commercially important that when she falls, world trade also comes crashing down. The title “the great city” is exclusive. There will doubtless be other powerful cities in the end time but John witnesses “the great city,” an unequaled center of trade, political power, culture and human bondage.

And to whom does that term refer? In Revelation, “the great city”  is used to clearly refer to Jerusalem, capitol of the Jewish people! When the two witnesses are killed, their dead bodies lie in the streets of “the great city. "... Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified” (Revelation 11:8). This unmistakably implies that powerful, corrupt Babylon and the great city “ Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord was crucified,” are the same city… Jerusalem.

The apostle Peter, bishop of Jerusalem, also calls Jerusalem “ Babylon.” He sends greetings from the church in Jerusalem saying, “She who is in Babylon…sends you greetings” (1 Peter 5:13). Peter never visited Babylon. He is clearly identifying the moral cesspool of antiquity, Babylon, with the city where Christ was killed.

Also, Rev. 18:24 says that the great city is guilty for having shed the blood of the Hebrew prophets and righteous from the beginning of history. Jesus said the same concerning the rulers of Jerusalem, the Pharisees: "that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar" (Matt. 23:35).

Who Is Israel and What is God's Promised Land?

I have stated this many times in my writings but will write it again.

For us in the Kingdom movement the following:

    - God's promises are only valid to the true seed of Abraham. And Paul made clear in both Galatians and Romans that not all Israel is Israel and only those of the faith of Abraham are the seed of Abraham.  Race and DNA mean nothing in the Kingdom of God.
    - The Jews in Israel need to learn what the Afrikaners in South Africa had to learn. We are called like Abraham to be a blessing to all the families of the earth. Racial Apartheid is not part of God's plans for His Kingdom.
    - The Jews like the Afrikaners have a wonderful ability to make the deserts bloom, produce food, produce jobs, deploy technology, teach, organize and bring prosperity where they live.  That is their calling in the Middle East.  That is our calling in Africa. - The Lord wants peace on earth and good will to all men.  Evangelicals must get out of this warmongering spirit of the age. The sons of God are peacemakers. We are called to a ministry of reconciliation, black with white, Jew with Arab. The Lord wants revival and missions into the Middle East nor war and conflict.
    - Those pushing for war while supposedly "praying for the peace of Jerusalem" are hypocrites, they secretly long for a great military victory of Arabs slaughtered as a supposed sign of the Lord's blessing on Israel.  They are as deceived as the 1,100,000 gathered in Jerusalem in 70 AD with the Roman army surrounding Jerusalem. Most of them were 'Messianics". A million people believing a great miracle was about to take place...Jesus the Messiah promised to return to establish a Jewish Kingdom.  They died deceived by false prophets.
    - To those preaching once again the same militaristic false gospel in the churches let me tell you the real gospel of the Kingdom of God:
    Jesus is Lord now!
The Kingdom of God already came at the resurrection of Jesus and is spreading till it fills the earth.
The only Jerusalem that is being built by God is the New Jerusalem which is the Church if Jesus Christ
The only Temple being rebuilt by God is the Temple of His, the Body of Christ wherein God now dwells.
The borders of the real Israel of God, the Church, is all the world!
    Read this scripture very carefully:

Rom 4:13  For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

The Promised Land promised to Abraham and his seed are to be heirs of "the whole world"!  We those of the faith of Abraham who are his true seed are to inherit the whole world. Not just a small patch of ground in Palestine.
Beware: Whatever was not planted by the Lord might blossom for a while but will eventually be plucked up.  There is a major disaster coming.
